Immune-Related Mice

Immune-Related Mice

Mice with defective adaptive immunity including nude, SCID and NOD-SCID mice, can effectively control common opportunistic agents such as Pseudomonas spp., until myeloablative effects from irradiation or other interventions eliminate their innate immunity as well. The effects of ionizing radiation on other tissues, and on developing or proliferating cells, influence morbidity and mortality of research mice.

Inducible Cell Ablation

Inducible cell ablation mouse models express DTR molecules under the control of elements from cell-specific genes. The targeted cells will be deleted after diphtheria toxin (DT) treatment. Such systems enable the studies of the function of immune cells.
