Model breeding

The model breeding that Shanghai Model Organisms can provide refers to the customized genetically modified animal models or the customer's existing genetically modified animal models. Through natural breeding or assisted reproductive breeding, specific genotype model products can be delivered within a specific period.

Specifically including: natural breeding , assisted reproductive breeding and SPF purification , etc.

Through model breeding, we can deliver a specified number of model strains with specific genotypes to customers at one time or in batches, effectively solving the technical or cost barriers that customers face in genotype identification, propagation cycle, animal quality, and operational management, and improving their research efficiency.

Natural Breeding
Assisted Reproductive Breeding
SPR Purification
Refers to a breeding method in which a specific genotype offspring model is obtained within a specific period of time through self-mating and breeding of animals under normal growth and development conditions and sexual cycles of the animal model.
It refers to a breeding method that uses assisted reproductive technologies such as egg superovulation, in vitro fertilization, and maternal surrogacy to obtain large quantities of offspring models of specific genotypes in the shortest possible time.
Refers to the process of obtaining SPF-level animal strains through embryo transfer.

Embryo cryopreservation

Method

The superovulated female mouse ismated with the target male mouse, andtwo cells are taken for slow freezing onthe next day and stored in liquid nitrogen.

Advantages

The survival rate of slow-frozen embryosafter thawing is high (more than 80%),and the pregnancy rate and litter rate oftransplanted mice are high.

Disadvantages

The operation is difficult, and an expensive program freezer is required, and the operation time is up to 6 hours.

Embryo recovery

Objective

To thaw and transplant frozen embryosto obtain the required mice and rats.

Methods

The frozen embryos were taken out ofliquid nitrogen, thawed at roomtemperature, and put into thecorresponding resuscitation fluid forresuscitation. The surviving eggs weretransplanted into pseudo-pregnantfemale mice to obtain the required miceand rats.

Sperm cryopreservation

Method

Male mice are killed and sperm is takenout and stored in liquid nitrogen throughrapid freezing .

Advantages

Fast operation speed and large amountof sperm.

Disadvantages

In vitro fertilization is required duringrecovery, and the fertilization rate is low(generally 15%-25%).

Sperm recovery

Objective

To thaw frozen sperm to obtain therequired mice and rats.

Methods

The frozen sperm was taken out fromliquid nitrogen and placed at 37 degreesfor 10 minutes, then transferred to TYHfor sperm capacitation. The capacioussperm was used to obtain fertilized eggsthrough in vitro fertilization, which weretransplanted into pseudo-pregnantfemale mice to obtain the required mice add rats.
